23 Primary schools in Agulu receive free exercise books --as Agulu Advocates set for Prof Ogbuagu quiz competition and Justice Oguji debate

www.odogwublog.com reports that no fewer than Twenty-Three (23) Primary Schools in Agulu Community, Anaocha local government area of Anambra state yesterday received free branded exercise books from The Agulu Advocates Forum, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

Chairman of the Agulu Advocates Forum, Kenechukwu Agajelu who led his members to the distribution ceremony announced that the forum has concluded arrangements to organize Prof Josephat Ogbuagu’s annual Quiz competition for Primary schools in Agulu and Justice Oguji’s debate competition for Secondary Schools in Agulu starting from December this year.

Agajelu equally announced that the forum is also finalizing arrangements for a Symposium on the way forward for education in Agulu community and called for support from all and sundry to the education of Agulu Children for a better future.

He said they are sponsoring the programmes as a way to honour the men who are first indigenes of Agulu to reach that height in their career as Head of a Tertiary Institution and Judge to motivate the pupils to be more dedicated and committed to their studies.

Agajelu was accompanied by the Secretary of the forum Dozie Chikwelu, Director of media and Publicity, Aguluka Nnamdi Kingsley, Chairman Education committee, Hon Ikemeonu Ogenna; some members including a lawyer Anny Ilo-Okoye and Comrade Mba Obiorah as well as Disciplinarian Comrade Obi Uche.
The Headmistress of  Onike Primary School Agulu, Mrs Charity Obieze emphasized that because the government could not do everything, their visit for assessment and donation of the free exercise books was apt. She lamented that pupils were sitting on the ground to learn due to lack of seats.
In a vote of thanks, the Secretary of Agulu Advocates Forum , Dozie Chikwelu and Chairman Education Committee Hon Ikemeonu Ogenna said their target was to make the whole man as their motto suggests by bringing awareness early enough to pupils and students for a brighter future.
At Central Special Primary School, Agulu , Mrs Ikeh Benedeth complained of lack of library, reading and sitting desks as pre-primary pupils sit on mat on the floor and thanked the youths for their think home philosophy.
At Ezeanyanwu Primary School Agulu, the Assistant Headmistress , Mrs Rita Uyanna appealed for fencing of the school to secure it from speculators, and completing of their abandoned toilet facilities by the man ASUDEB gave contract as well as erosion menace and small seats for pupils.
