UN scribe assures Buhari of support on full fight against Boko Haram
United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon,has assured President Mohamadu Buhari on the readiness of the world body to support Nigeria to give a total fight to Boko Haram.
This was contained in the press statement the United Nations chief sent to journalists in New York to condemn the activities of Boko Haram terrorists in the Northern parts of the country.
In the statement, Mr. Ban Ki-moon also condemned the recent multiple bomb attacks at a mosque and nearby areas conducted by suspected Boko Haram elements in Maiduguri, Borno state.
He described the attacks which reportedly killed about 50 civilians and injured several others as brutal ones, saying that a lasting solution must be urgently found to the insurgency.

The Secretary-General however extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victims to whom he wished a speedy recovery. He continued that he was deeply concerned about the continuing brutal attacks against civilians, including children.
Mr Ban also made it known that he was also deeply concerned about the increasing number of those displaced, including some 500,000 children over the past five months, with serious humanitarian consequences.
Finally, he reiterated the UN’s support to the Nigerian Government in its fight against terrorism, which should be grounded on international humanitarian, human rights and refugee law.
