Thailand Investors rate Anambra Education high, thump up for Obiano, Omenugha

www.odogwublog.com reports that a delegation of Thai investors arrived Anambra state yesterday, to explore avenues of co-operating with the state in educational development.

The group led by the Thai Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Chailert Limsomboon, were received at the Government House Awka, by the chief of staff Professor Joe Asike.
 Briefing the chief of staff on the essence of the visit, Mr Limsomboon said they were in the state to seek areas of co-operation in line with the discussion with an indigene of the state who is in charge of community Education in Enugu and Anambra states , Professor Uche Amazigo.

Receiving the delegation, the chief of staff Professor Asike, thanked them for the visit and assured them of governments assistance for the actualization of their programme , expressing the hope that the partnership will open up more opportunities for partnering the state.
Professor Asike added that the partnership was part of proceeds from the business summit between Thai investors and the state. The group later proceeded to the ministry of Education in company of the commissioner for Education Professor Kate Omenugha.
In her welcome speech, Professor Omenugha explained various measures already taken by the state government to boost education especially as it concerns vocational and technical schools which she noted will help in reducing unemployment as the skills will help the youths to be gainfully employed.
 Professor Omenugha added that government is always ready to receive any group who will partner the state noting that Anambra has remained among the top three states in education and will work hard to be the best . Addressing members of the ministry, Mr Limsomboon expressed joy for the status of education in the state promising a lot of opportunities as he look forward for a fruitful deliberations.
In a speech, professor Amazigo who retired from World Health Organisation is now championing community education, maintained that such partnership will help a lot of children especially the disabled and drop out to go back to school.
The permanent secretary of the ministry Dr Beatrice Okonkwo had earlier briefed the visitors on the educational system of the state and how they are managed.
