Sectional Appointments: Let's Give Buhari Benefit of Doubt - Bishop Ezeokafor

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor says he is unfazed over what many southern political pundits called lopsided political appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari even as he insists that he Buhari should be given every benefit of doubt until he is done with ministerial appointments.
Bishop Ezeokafor who stated this at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka while exchanging political views with newsmen, said the former military Head of State has every right to choose who and who that would be in his kitchen cabinet.
'Nigeria is a diverse country and need the input of all its ethnic and religious makeup to succeed.
I will appeal to Mr. President to respect and ensure Federal Character in appointments into offices of the Federal government and its agencies.
'No pluralistic society can survive with lopsidedness in political appointments. Let's give him that benefit of doubt that he will balance the equation with his ministerial appointments,' The man of God prayed.
The Catholic prelate, advised Igbo speaking politicians to desist from pursuing individual honours and to work for the greater good of the people and urged  those who are clamouring for juicy positions in Buhari's government to have Igbo interest at heart.
Bishop Ezeokafor said he would have loved to see people of Southeast geopolitical zone move beyond political appointments and individual pursuits and focused more on collective wellness of the Igbos .
Bishop Ezeokafor enjoined them to always think about those they represented rather than seeing the mandate given to them by the people as an avenue to enrich themselves while allowing their constituents to continue to wallow in abject penury.
'Whether you're a Senator, House of Reps Member and even a Minister, you're there to serve the people and not to enrich yourself and that of your immediate families,' he said.
