Prophet kills self after church rejected his service

                                                 
A self styled prophet of God identified as Prophet Wale, has reportedly stabbed himself to death with a broken bottle after a church in the Ikotun area of Lagos State, Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ona Iwa Mimo, rejected his services.

It was gathered that Prophet Wale had allegedly approached the female owner of the church located on Otunba Bamidele Street, in the area and offered to be part of her ministry but the woman refused to allow him join her.

This rejection was said to have angered the prophet who reportedly broke a bottle and stabbed himself in the neck and bled to death.

A resident in the area spoke on the incident:

“It was around 5pm. I was passing by and I saw a crowd of people in the church premises. Policemen and three police vans from Ikotun, Idimu and Igando police divisions were there.

When I enquired, I learnt that a certain prophet had approached the prophetess and offered to assist her and also live in the church premises but she refused.

Many people sleep in that church and something could have led to his death. It could have been frustration and it might be something different.”

A police source however revealed that the victim was from the Apapa area of the state and had gone to the church to get employed.

“The owner of the church is claiming that she has never met the man before. She said the man just came to her and said he was a pastor from Bayelsa State and he was living in Apapa, but would like to be part of her ministry.

She claimed that when she asked for his address, and relatives, he did not answer her," the source concluded.

In July this year, a man of God, Prophet Destiny Onwudinjo, the General Overseer of Heaven Divine Ministry, based in Shasha, Lagos State, has committed suicide inside his cell in the Kirikiri Minimum Security Prisons where he was serving a seven year jail term.
