OLISEH BEGINS EAGLES REIGN WITH A BARREN DRAW
Newly appointed Super eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has began his reign as Coach of the Nigerian senior team with a disappointing goalless draw in far away Tanzania. The super eagles were relatively outplayed by their host especially in the first half of the encounter. The super eagles have their custodian Carl Ikeme to thank for keeping out the rampaging Tanzanian strikers and escaping with a solitary point. Prior to the encounter, the former champions were bookmakers favourites to clinch the maximum points. The Tanzanians will be hugely disappointed for failing to kill off the West Africans in a match they dominated. The super eagles missed the service of the long term goal keeper and skipper-Vincent Enyeama who was unavailable for selection due to the death of his mother. CSKA Moscow's winger Ahmed Musa captained the side in the absence of the highly experienced Lille of France safe hands. The return leg comes up in Nigeria.
