Obiano wants to kill me , Emeakayi cries out

The Anambra state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party , Prince Ken Emeakayi has raised the alarm over threat to his life.
 He alleged that the threat to his life was as a result of his opposition to the APGA government of Governor Willie Obiano.
 Emeakayi was kidnapped in 2013, shortly after the governorship election in the state.
  Reacting on telephone ,the Senior  Special Assistant to the governor on Media , Mr James Eze said “ I think Emeakayi is rabble-rousing to attract attention.
  He said Anambra had no history of killing anybody for criticizing government, adding that the governor was too civil to think in that line.

The Anambra state governor , Willie Obiano  and the People’s Democratic Party in the state has been at daggers drawn over the state funds.
 The PDP in the state is accusing Obiano’s APGA government of mismanagement of the state’s resources , especially the local government funds.
 For Obiano , PDP’s  action amounted to meddlesomeness and busy body.

The People’s Democratic Party insisted that the governor should account for the funds , stressing that accountability is the strong feature of democracy.
 The opposition party maintained that it was misappropriation for the governor used the state resources to build his party’s (APGA) secretariat, and even allotting land to his party for that purpose
 To this end,  the PDP had via an open letter to Obiano asked the governor to account for local government funds he had received from the Federal Allocation since March 17 ,2014 when the governor assumed office.
 The state Chairman of  PDP, Prince Ken Emeakayi   on Wednesday insisted that his life is under threat as a result of his opposition to the Obiano APGA government.
In his petition  made available to reporters   in Awka,  the state capital , Emeakayi  alleged that his life was in danger.
 He said he had  petitioned the state police command over the threat to his life.
According to  Emeakayi’s letter, “While, we have chosen to remain focused and to engage only on issue driven and constructive opposition, we wish to assure Your Excellency that no amount of threat/harassment, intimidation, personality attacks and name calling by overzealous and ignorant APGA officials and State Government agents can distract and deter us from the exercise of our fundamental rights as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution of theFederal Republic of Nigeria and the Freedom of Information Act, respectively”
“For the avoidance of doubt our observation as contained in the letter under reference was that projects initiated by Chief Peter Obi administration with the Local Government Council funds at the various Local Government Areas have been abandoned by the Governor Willie Obiano administration”
“It is our complaint Your Excellency, that the duty and functions of the elected Local Government Council Chairmen and Councilors in the State have been usurped- by the StateGovernment”
“The Governor of Anambra State is most respectfully requested pursuant to the Freedom of information Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to make public the statement of account showing income and expenditure of the 21 Local Government Councils in the State since inception of the Governor Willie Obiano administration”
“The APGA Government of Anambra State is requested also to declare publicly the total contract sum of the overhead bridge projects at Awka embarked upon by the willingly working WillieObiano administration.”
 The letter added  Obiano “Is requested to direct the Anambra State "Independent  Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) to conduct without any further delay the inconclusive election of Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Council and Chairman and Councilors of Nnewi North Local Government Council, respectively, in compliance with various decisions of the Courts”
“His Excellency the   willingly working Willie   is   humbly   also requested to tell Anambrarians how the vast land owned by the Anambra State Government was acquired by APGA for the building of the Party's Secretarial and also how the said APGA building is being funded” PDP wrote.
