National Security Adviser sacks 12 directors in his office

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Mongonu (retd), has fired all the 12 directors he inherited from his predecessor, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

Dasuki, who is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms.

Mongonu sacked the directors before travelling with President Muhammadu Buhari to France on Monday, September 15.

According to Nigerian Tribune, reliable sources informed that the NSA had a meeting with the directors last Thursday, lamenting their lackadaisical attitude towards the welfare of junior staff.

He later gave them one week to hand over to their next in rank.

The directors of the various departments sacked are; Departments of Internal Security, Defence Affairs, Communication, Economic Intelligence, Special Duties and Counter-terrorism Centre.

Others are Departments of Lawful Interception, Behavioural Analysis, Policy and Strategy, External Security, Administration and Finance and Presidential Communication Command and Control Centre.
