President General,Igbo cultural Association, Jonah Okey Ezekwueme, has called on Plateau State Government to provide portable water to the Igbo community
Chief Ezekwueme declared this during the commissioning and dedication of the newly built town Hall for Igbo sons and daughters resident in the state.
He expressed worry over the plight of Ndigbo as most of them leaving in Apata and its environs are facing challenges of lack of portable water.
Ezekwueme appealed to government to come to their aid. On the newly commissioned hall, it is a thing of joy for Ndigbo as they can now hive a sigh of relief that a central meeting point has been built
According to him ,his tenure has created the women's wing and youth wing, who are trained and serve as vigilante and embarked on empowering of the youths to fend for themselves. He charged Ndigbo to be law abiding,go about their lawful businesses and avoid being security risk to the state.
Performing the commissioning ceremony, Eze Igbo ll of Jos ,Joseph Obilom, charged Ndigbo to see the hall as a project of the entire Ndigbo resident in Plateau.”Now we have a central point where we can hold our regular meetings and as well discuss issues centred on the affairs of Ndigbo’.
He advised them to always make use of the hall for their own benefit. According to him, every Igbo man resident in the area should be associated with Igbo Welfare Cultural Association ,the umbrella body of Ndigbo resident in Jos,
Prof Obilom, appreciated the entire Igbos for joining hands together to ensure that the project was completed. He urged them to be peacemakers and law abiding citizens of the state .
