As the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka 2015 Post UTME registration ended on Wednesday, the university has disclosed that 34,000 candidates have registered for the exercise scheduled to commenced today Monday 7th September 2015.
This was disclosed to me in a telephone chat by the university's director of information and public relations Dr Emmanuel Ojukwu Friday.
According to Dr. Ojukwu, the university will only admit 6,500 candidates out of the 34,000 registered in line with its admission quota.
Dr. Ojukwu further disclosed that the screening will be a Computer Base Test (CBT) and each candidate will automatically receive his or her screening result as a text message immediately the candidate logs out of the system.
The university's director also said that with the measures already taken by the management, it will be very difficult for anyone to be admitted through the backdoor and warned all candidates not to give money to anybody to obtain admission because backdoor admission will no longer be possible.
He also said that two non academic staff of the university that usually engaged in helping candidates with backdoor admissions resigned immediately they observed that their fraudulent activities will no longer be possible and are currently on the run.
Dr. Ojukwu also said that one staff of the university have been sacked and two others demoted after they were found guilty of gross indiscipline and extortion of students by the staff disciplinary committee.
