Despite Thailand and other Asian countries punishment drug traffickers with death, some stubborn  Nigerians still find pleasure in indulging in the deadly trade.

This came just as two Nigerian men, Joseph Uyamadu, 43, and 33-year-old Emmanuel Umiano, were arrested on Monday, September 7, by a joint force of narcotic suppression police and naval officers for allegedly producing cocaine in their apartment in the Ban Kai district of Rayong province.

According to Thai PBS, the two men and their accomplice, a Peru national identified as Ammando William, were arrested during a raid in their apartment where a cache of chemicals and materials used to produce drugs were found.

During a search of the apartment, a large amount of cocaine was found hidden in the flush tank while a bag containing black and sticky substance similar to raw opium, black sheets of substance, choric acid, electric grinder, a microwave oven, kerosene, and  two cars, were also recovered.

The black sheets of substance are suspected to be chemical substance used in producing drugs, a narcotic police officer said, but added they have to be tested in the laboratory.

The three suspects were detained at Ban Khai police station pending investigation into their drug records. They could face the death sentence if convicted.
