Obiano speaks on Crude Oil Production in the vast Gas fields in Anambra State at Lagos Business School
www.odogwublog.com reports that Crude Oil Production in the vast Gas fields in Anambra State is to rise to 3000 barrels per day by September this year.
Governor Willie Obiano made this known while delivering a keynote lecture at the 2015 Distinguished Lecture Series of the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
The Lecture which is the 8th in the series, was held at the auditorium of the Lagos Business School, the Ajah Campus of the University.
Delivering the Lecture, Governor Willie Obiano said his achievement of the ongoing accelerated growth and development in the state was a factor of the carefully-designed strategic approach which his administration had adopted towards the state administration.
This he noted included the four key development pillars namely Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Industrialization and Trade and Commerce, chosen because of the comparative advantages which the state has in the various areas as well as the numerous enablers to drive their realization.
The Governor who recalled that the advent of APGA in the state’s political scene, had brought about numerous struggles and dynamics through which the state was liberated from the shackles of backwardness, said the leadership model which the APGA Regime had brought back the people’s confidence in the ability of government to cater for their needs.
According to him, in his belief that the state having been blessed with abundant human and material resources, the state cannot continue to suffer underdevelopment, he had upon inception of office, convened a stakeholders’ meeting to garner the relevant support towards the state development, a move he observed has started yielding dividends as high networth Ndi Anambra are now investing in the state.
Earlier, In their welcome speeches, the Dean, School of Media and Communication, Dr Ike Obiaya and the Head, Mass Media and Writing Department of the School, Dr James Tsaaior said the nation is in dire need of total renaissance especially in the area of governance and explained that the lecture series aim to galvanize the process that will drive the change, noting that Governor Obiano has distinguished himself by his track record within a short while in office.
In his remarks, a Lecturer with the Lagos Business School and renowned motivational speaker, Professor Pat Utomi said the choice of Governor Obiano as the guest lecturer for the edition was appropriate as it will avail the opportunity for him to share his experiences in the State administration, as well as his laudable administrative initiatives and policies that have engendered a turnaround in the fortunes of the state.
Display of a rich documentary on the achievements of the Governor as well as presentation of plaque to him in recognition of his landmark achievements in the state, formed the highpoints of the event.
