Obiano becomes Patron of the State Council of the Scout Association of Nigeria , donates bus , set to revive scout

 As predicted by www.odogwublog.com  Governor Willie Obiano’s investiture as Patron of Boy Scouts of Nigeria Anambra State was performed at Governor’s Lodge Amawbia yesterday.

 Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engr Ahmadu Mohammed performed the ceremony in company of other national officials. He was presented with a warrant with which he was entrusted with the State Scout Council.


Performing the investiture, the Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engr Mohammed noted that Governor having been a scout since childhood, makes the ceremony a formality in fulfilling the Constitution of the Association that the Governor of each state shall be the Patron of the Council in their respective states.

In his address, the President of the State Scout Council and State Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi, noted that the Scout described the investiture on the Governor as apt, considering his phenomenal successes in the security of lives and property in the state, assuring that the state council is committed to exploring every avenue within its means to enhance the future of young boys and girls in the state through the lofty ideals of scouting.

Responding, Governor Obiano said the Scout Association represents one of the most viable means of training youths in the path of positivity and security consciousness especially in view of the present insecurity in the country.

While thanking the Association for the honour done him, Governor Obiano assured that his government is will work through the Ministries of Youths and Sports and Education to revive Scout movement in the various schools in the state as a veritable tool for youth development and mobilization.

The Governor at the event also donated a bus to the State Council of the  Association to assist her in her activities.

The Scout Movement, a voluntary non-political movement for young people, open to all irrespective of gender, race or creed, offers youths the opportunity to develop their full physical, social and spiritual potentials as responsible global citizens and as members of their respective local, national  and international communities.
