NNPC denies ethnic cleansing in restructuring

National oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has debunked claims that its ongoing restructuring, leading to the sack of some top management staff, has ethnic agenda.
The Corporation said it has carried out recent retirement and appointments in line with extant laws regarding Federal Character principle.
It will be recalled that the new Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachukwu, got a marching order from President Muhammadu Buhari to restructure the corporation and take it to the next level.
