The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to establish a hospital for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The decision was reached following authorization by Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar.

The second-level hospital will be constructed at the largest IDP camp in the capital city.

Abubakar also ordered the construction of a borehole to service the hospital and other people within the camp, Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Dele Alonge, said.

The directive for the establishment of the hospital was given to NAF Director of Medical Services in order to provide the health care needs of the state’s many IDPs.

Nigeria’s Boko Haram insurgency has left thousands dead and many more homeless in the country’s troubled North-East.
