www.odogwublog.com reports that the former President of Students Union Government (SUG) Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Comrade Nelson Omenugha yesterday celebrated 3 years of his foundation with aged women, widows ,orphans and motherless in Anambra state.
His foundation, Nelson Obinna Omenugha Foundation (NOOF) distributed materials worth thousands of naira to less-privileged and indigent citizens across the state.
Comrade Omenugha distributed wrappers, cooking utensils, cartons of indomie noodles, insecticide treated nets, among other things to indigent persons at Nnobi, his home town in Idemili North and Model Motherless Baby Home, Awka, Awka South Local Government Areas of the state.
The event was to mark the 3rd year anniversary of the foundation which according to him has impacted to many lives positively.
The founder of Nelson Obinna Omenugha Foundation (NOOF), Comrade Nelson Omenugha noted that he was motivated into formig the foundation by the level of suffering witnessed among greater percentage of Nigerians especially in the state, a situation he described as uncalled for.
He said that his foundation started 3 years ago when he graduated from Mass communication department at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka is committed to charity and adding values to lives.
His words: “I have the passion to add value to lives, alleviate people’s suffering, empowering youths and women at rural areas because they are the most affected. Life does not worth living if you did not impact positively to someone around you, and that is what NOOF stands for”, he said.
He however, advised workers in the Model Motherless Home to be diligent in discharging of their official responsibilities, adding that those who sow good receive good rewards and vice visa, promised that his foundation will partner with state government in the humanitarian service.
In her welcome remarks, the coordinator of the Model Motherless Baby Home, Mrs Anaekwe Bridget thanked the young philanthropist for his good gesture, and maintained that those that celebrate with Motherless children were not doing so because they have excess rather it was the passion for the less-privileged drives them. She therefore prayed for the growth and sustenance of the Nelson Obinna Omenugha Foundation.
In her vote of thanks, one of the senior workers in Homes, Ogochukwu Ejiofor thanked Nelson Obinna Omenugha Foundation for her good gesture, insisted that nobody has ever sown in the life of less-privileged and indigent without bountifully divine reward, prayed that Omenugha family will never lack good things from generation to generations.
High point of the occasion was the breaking of Anniversary cake with the Model Motherless children to mark the 3rd year of Nelson Obinna Omenugha Foundation (NOOF)’s operation in the country.
