www.odogwublog.com reports that the camp of Olisa Metuh national publicity secretary of PDP are mocking Comrade Tony Nwoye group after the Members of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have rejected the “suspension” of Olisa Metuh, by a faction of the party in his home Anambra state.
That means Comrade Nwoye group are legal and kicking against wave of hand initially by Metuh’s group.
The party’s leadership also nullified the alleged impeachment of the chairman of the party in Lagos state, Olatunji Shelle.
The committee’s position was contained in a resolution of its meeting which held on Wednesday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Speaking via a statement signed by the PDP national Legal Adviser, Victor Kwon, the party said it noted “with concern, misleading reports in some section of the media that a certain group in Anambra, unknown to our party, has purportedly suspended the National Publicity Secretary of our great party, Chief Olisa Metuh.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC reiterates that Chief Olisa Metuh is a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and as such can only be disciplined by NEC, in accordance with Sections 57(7) and 59(3) of the PDP Constitution 2012 (as Amended), and that is in the event that a need for such arises. The purported suspension is therefore a nullity,” the NWC said.
The committee restated its implicit confidence in the National Publicity Secretary and expressed satisfaction with his commitment towards the progress and development of the party at all levels.
When contacted, the Anambra State Chairman of the party, Ken Emeakayi, commended the position of the national leadership, adding that the NWC had even written to the Anambra state police command on the state of the party in the state.
He said key PDP leaders in the state, including all the senators and members of House of Representatives as well as leaders and elders of the party in Anambra, have since expressed their confidence in Mr. Metuh.
“Those trying to impress the APC-led government, by attempting to orchestrate an impression that there is crisis in the state chapter, should desist from such,” he said.
