Catholic Archbishop Okeke sends 100 youths to Ghana, tasks them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria

www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that the Archbishop of Catholic Arch-Dioceses of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, wanted some youths to enjoy. He then decided to send them out of Nigeria and that place is Ghana.

He then charged youths to be good ambassadors of Nigeria anywhere they found themselves.

 Archbishop Okeke stated this while addressing 100 youths sponsored for a vacation excursion to Ghana by the Archbishop Valerian Okeke Foundation (AVOF).

``Be good ambassadors of your country; tell people of different nationals that Nigeria is good and practically show them how good you are,’’ Okeke said on Friday.


The youths were drawn from various church denominations within Anambra.


Okeke said that AVOF Foundation was meant to make youths in Anambra great; adding: ``It is my wish that the youths are happy and achieve their dreams’’.


The archbishop, however, informed youths that their journey enjoyed the support of all and sundry particularly Anambra government, who gave financial and moral support.


In a speech, the Auxiliary Catholic Bishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Denis Isizoh, noted that the youths selected were very fortunate to be selected to travel to a different country for the excursion.


According to Isizoh, the greatest excursion he has embarked upon with his mates as a student was to travel to the bank of the River Niger where they were delighted to see only fishermen paddling their boats.


``When you get to Ghana, you will see different types of people who may not have come to your country before as well as other things which may impress or not impress you.


 ``Always have team spirit, don’t quarrel and don’t get angry with another person,’’ he advised.


In his contribution, Anambra Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Chief Tony Nnacheta, reiterated the government’s effort towards giving qualitative education to the youths.
         

Nnacheta enjoined the youths to go about their actions with integrity and expressed gratitude to the archbishop for organizing the excursion.
