www.odogwublog.com reports that the leader of Boko-Haram, Abubakar Shekau said to be dead has claimed that he is alive and also in command of Boko-Haram.
This latest bragging by Shekau is contained in an audio message believed to be from Nigerian-based Islamist militant group.
Boko Haram's leader Abubakar Shekau, in the audio denies he has been replaced.
In the message, addressed to the leader of the Islamic State militant group to whom Boko Haram has pledged allegiance, Mr Shekau said he was still in command.
He had not featured in the group's recent videos, prompting speculation he had been killed or incapacitated.
Mr Shekau described as "blatant lies" reports that he was no longer in charge.
"I am alive," he said, adding: "I will only die when the time appointed by Allah comes."
The eight-minute-long recording mocked a recent statement by the new Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram would be eliminated within three months.
Describing President Idris Deby of Chad as a “hypocrite”, the notorious militant said infidels were behind reports of his death.
“It is indeed all over the global media of infidels that I am dead or that I am sick,” he said.
“It should be understood that this is false. This is indeed a lie. If it were true, my voice wouldn’t have been heard, now that I am speaking. “I have not disappeared. I am still alive and I will not die until my time appointed by Allah is up,” he added.
