19-yr-old boy arrested after he raped 79-yr-old woman to death

                                               
A 19-year-old boy who raped a 79-year-old woman to death in the Chipinge District of Zimbabwe, has been arrested after he mistakenly forgot his cellphone at the scene of the crime.

Police report Lovemore Mlambo and his 30-year-old accomplice, Josiah Simango, had raped Marubeni Sithole after they broke into her home in the wee hours of the money and in the process, she gave up the ghost after they had beaten her and pushed her to the floor.

Chipinge police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda said that both suspects went to the home of the elderly woman to rob her.

"However, when the 30-year-old man knocked on the door, Sithole opened and he pushed her into the house before going inside. Sithole fell to the floor. Simango proceeded to kick her. The teenager then decided to rape the woman while Simango acted as a lookout.

The teenager raped the woman, but fled the home after realizing that she was bleeding profusely. The men left the woman bleeding to death."

The police were able to track the suspects down after they discovered Mlambo's phone at the scene.

The two men were arrested and charged in the rape and murder of the woman.
