Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as Nigeria’s President on May 29, 2015, and it was one of the proudest
moments of my life.
I was honoured to be one of the guests at his inauguration and looking at him standing tall on that podium just filled my heart with peace.
I knew then and there that a new dawn had come for Nigeria; my country would finally reclaim its lost glory and this was the man who would lead the way.
This is why I’m not the least bit bothered about the seemingly slow pace of his administration
I don’t understand why Buhari has not appointed ministers one month after his inauguration, but I know without a doubt that he knows what he’s doing.
Every time I see my President, I see the confidence in his face, the sureness in his walk, the straightness of his shoulders, I know instinctively that this is a man who knows what he’s doing.
This is why when he attended the G7 summit, he was treated with respect and accorded an honourable spot in the front row with US President, Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
Even the leaders of the world’s most developed countries realized that Nigeria had elected a president who was actually and truly in charge.
Buhari cares about ending Boko Haram and has made concrete moves to do so. He doesn’t go dancing when children are killed by terrorists neither does he bring the country to ridicule by telling blatant lies on international television.
However, frankly speaking, I ‘Jola Sotubo am supremely, utterly, completely proud of my President and it would take much more than a delayed cabinet to change that.

Slow or not, I’m proud of President Muhammadu Buhari
