Public Service Announcement: Anambra approves free movement for Okada Operators, set to register them?

www.odogwublog.com brings you this new twist to the ban on motorcycle riding in Anambra state. Anambra State Government will from Saturday 1st August, 2015 commence free registration and issuance of identity cards for all commercial and private motorcycles and vehicles as well as boats and canoes operating in the State.

The State Government will also commence the free distribution of branded bibs or vests to all motorcycle riders and life jackets to all commuters using boats and canoes as means of transport in the riverine communities of the State.

Venue for the registration is headquarters of the 21 local government areas of the State.

Government wishes to use the opportunity of this announcement to inform the public particularly commercial and private motorcycle operators that the order on compulsory use of crash helmet is still in force

The use of life jackets and vests is also compulsory for all commuters using canoes and boats as means of transport.

Government also, by this announcement, advises mothers traveling with their children to avoid using motorcycles but to enter tricycles, taxis or buses to ensure their safety.

Violators of these directives would have themselves to blame as law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
