Justice Peter Umeadi's 60th Birthday as Obiano lauds Anambra Chief Judge at his 60th Birthday

www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano says the cordial relationship between the three arms of the State Government remains vital to the continued growth and development of the state and will be aggressively pursued by his administration.
 Governor Obiano stated this during the Presentation of the Legal works of the state Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi, selected Rulings, Judgment and Reviews to mark the 60th Birthday of the Chief Judge, held at the Federal High Court of Justice, Onitsha.
 The event with the theme ' the day eagle emerged' attracted the who is who in the State Bench and Bar and beyond, top State Government functionaries, friends and colleagues of the Chief Judge.
 It featured various sessions of Legal discourse creating the avenue for the practitioners to upgrade and flow effectively in the fields of modern Legal developments and shifting opinions of law.
 Governor Obiano, while speaking at the event, said his government is committed to enforcing the independence and financial autonomy for the Judiciary in the State as a way of improving the pace and quality of justice service delivery in the state.
 He noted that his administration as part of efforts to support the state Judiciary to effectively play its role in ensuring prompt criminal justice delivery, had embarked on the renovation and furnishing of existing conditions and constructing new ones while eight judges have been appointed and provided accommodation and other relevant appendages.
 Describing Justice Umeadi as a dutiful Judge who combines vision and administration, Governor Obiano called on younger practitioners to emulate his industry and un-quenching thirst for learning to make meaningful progress in their chosen field.
 In a welcome speech, the State Chief Judge, Justice Umeadi described his years in the State Bench as both challenging and interesting, and thanked God for his mercies as well as Governor Obiano and many others, who according to him, have helped him in what he called "lean times".
 In a review of the work, a legal practioner Barrister MVC Ozioko described the book as a hallmark of legal excellence which reflected Justice Umeadi's uncommon industry and mastery of the law, recommending it for younger practitioners.
 The Chief Registrar of the State Judiciary, Mrs Doris Ezeani attributed the successes achieved by the state Chief Judge to hard work and honesty and noted that the state Judiciary under his watch has been transformed immensely.
 Some members of the Onitsha Bar including Barristers Larry Nwangwu and Ben Osaka spoke on how the Chief Judge had positively affected their practice through his works.
 Highpoints of the event was cutting of Birthday Cake by the Celebrant as well as toast and chanting of birthday songs
