Female suicide bomber kills four at military checkpoint

A female suicide bomber on Tuesday detonated an explosive device at a military checkpoint in Sabon Gari, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, killing herself and four others.
A member of the youth vigilante group, Abba Maidugu, said the lone female suicide bomber alighted at military checkpoint in the village and detonated the device.
Maidugu said the loud explosion also caused injuries to many other persons.
He said among the four innocent persons killed were two members of the youth vigilante group.
Maidugu said, “At about 10:30am today (Tuesday), a female bomber, with explosives wrapped round her body, exploded at a checkpoint killing four, including two members of civilian JTF and injuring many others.”
Sabon Gari is a community in Damboa, southern part of Borno State, about 120 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.
