Does tribe matter in the choice of a life partner?

Worried man
My name is Godspower Ezechukwu. I am from one of the eastern states in Nigeria. I am in a serious dilemma and all efforts to solve the problems on my own has proved abortive and nothing that a problem shared is half solved, I have decided to bring it to your readers, hoping they will be able to help me out.

My problem started when I went for my youth service in Kaduna State. That was where I met and fell in love with Tabitha, a fellow corps member from Taraba State.

Meeting Tabitha change my world and I must say I have come to agree that there are good people in every part of Nigeria. She is the kind of woman no man would hesitate to make his wife. She is humble, faithful, loving, God fearing and above all, has nice manners.

We are so much in love and have agreed to get married but here lies my problem.

My father, a staunch Igbo man and a traditional chief, has refused to give us his blessings, vowing that I can only marry a non-Igbo over his dead body. The first time I took her home to meet my family, my father practically chased Tabitha out of our compound when he realised she was not an Igbo girl.

Now he and other members of my family are planning to marry a wife for me while I have made up my mind that it is either Tabitha or no one.

What do you think I should do to make my father change his mind?

Godspower,

Abuja."
