Delta Landlady Flees From Kidnappers, Daughter Still Being Held Captive

A 52-year-old Delta landlady, Mrs Felicia Mordi, who was kidnapped along with her 13-year-old daughter,
Ogor, has fled from the hands of her captors. Mordi and her teenage daughter were abducted on June 29 by five gunmen at Ogwashi-Uku before the Anti-Robbery Patrol Team attached to Ogwashi-Uku Division swung into action almost immediately to rescue the victims.

The victims were reportedly in their Hyundai jeep when they were abducted.

Mrs Mordi was reportedly released on Friday while her daughter is said to be in the den of the kidnappers.
Authorities of the Delta State Police Command, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, said the release of Mrs Mordi came due to pressures mounted on the kidnappers. It is still unclear whether ransom was paid before the woman was released.

Kalu admitted that conceited efforts are being made to secure the release of the young girl.
