37 teachers killed in Sabongari bomb blast

It has emerged that 37 teachers were killed in the July 7 bomb blast in Sabongari, Kaduna.

The National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Michael Olukoya, disclosed this while speaking at the Founders day of the Nigerian Union of Teachers in Abuja.
He said the teachers were at the state secretariat to take part in the government-initiated verification exercise to weed off ghost workers.

Olukoya added that the various Boko Haram attacks in Borno State has claimed the lives of 272 teachers, with over 19,000 of them displaced.
