Woman delivers triplets at home in Urum Community amidst confusion

www.odogwublog.com reports that Urum is a community in Awka North local government of Anambra
state. It appears most communities in Awka North are abandoned, too close to Awka capital territory yet too far and none of the ten communities that made up the local government could boost of major basic amenities.
Poverty and lack of infrastructures made private capitalists not to look that area in making investments. Most health cases are treated locally or ignored as lack of resources could not make them visit professionals.
That was the situation on the international Day of the African Child as a woman gave birth to triplets in her home at Urum.
The woman Mrs Oluchukwu Madubuko delivered two girls and one boy at about three o'clock that morning with the assistance of some neighbours.
Two eye witnesses Mrs Patience Umegbolu and Mrs Helen Nwafor who assisted the woman before calling on a midwife in the area said while they were still trying to find a means of rushing her to the hospital the first child came out which made them to take her back to the room where she completed the delivery.
They used the medium to call on the Anambra state government to recruit more nurses and doctors in the area as the health centre in the community lacks qualified healthcare workers. Last time robbers invaded and made away with the remnants of the health center.
The father of the triplets Mr Asiegbu Madubuko who was full of praises to God for saving his wife and children called for urgent government intervention saying he is an ordinary farmer without a reasonable income. The man informed that he has no money to take the wife and children to the hospital for proper medical care.
Also speaking one of the elders in the community Mr Martin Nwanna said on a day of the African Child celebration government was supposed to use the occasion to pay more attention on how to serve the lives of pregnant women and children especially in the rural areas of the country.
In an interview, a midwife with a private maternity home in Urum Mrs Chinyere Okeke Confirmed that the woman and her triplets were in good condition even as she harped on the need for urgent government attention to primary healthcare centers and maternity in the area.
But tragedy would have struck but for the immediate rushing of the triplets and their mother to the hospital at Awka by good spirited individuals.
This is because the people were thrown into confusion as the woman who have been on bed after delivery since 3 AM started having convulsion and vomiting blood.  The woman was later rushed to General Hospital Amaku for proper medical attention.
