Why APGA Surmounts PDP In Oyi - Chairman

Alliance, APGA , surmounted People's Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyi local Government Area, Anambra State was because of caliber of APGA candidates who contested with PDP and other political parties' candidates.

Making the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen in Nteje, Oyi Council Area headquarters, the Chairman of APGA in Oyi, Hon Vincent Obiora Anyakaorah added that the APGA candidates were more popular because of their achievements and more experienced politically.

In the words of Anyakaorah, "Hon (Mrs) Vivian Okadigbo Akpamgbo was a member of the immediate past House of Assembly and has been re-elected because of her previous achievements to the people".

"To thank the people of Oyi for re-electing her, she slaughtered a cow for each of the communities in the area apart from other items she gave them", Anyakaorah revealed.

"Do we talk of Barr. Gabriel Onyenweife who is currently representing Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is a political bulldozer who believes in action than words.

His Popularity and that of Hon Okadigbo and mine made APGA to win PDP for the first time to clinch the seat of House of Representatives".

"During the electioneering campaign period I told them that Oyi and Ayamelum were APGA stronghold and today they have seen it and commended me for my effort.

Hon Mrs. Okadigbo came to APGA when APGA was in disarray looking for a credible candidate in the area and she was the brain behind surmounting of PDP in Oyi and Ayamelum Local Government Areas" Anyakaorah stated further.

The APGA Chairman said, "Okadigbo was the one who brought the mighty Igwe Onyekwuruje of Umunya into APGA and even the President General of Nkwelle - Ezunaka, Chief Ikechukwu Nnalue, all bowed for APGA".

"I have made my mark in APGA in Oyi such that if by tomorrow I am no longer the Chairman it will be on record that I made APGA what it is in Oyi", he added further.
