12 young entrepreneurs have been granted N250,000 each
by Nigeria Breweries, Life Continental
Beer
Progress Booster Project, in the South-East Zone of the country.
The states that
benefitted were Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.
The project was
aimed at empowering 50 budding entrepreneurs who have sound and workable
business ideas and residents of South-East state.
Presenting, the cash
grant at Enugu to the beneficiaries, the manager, Nigeria Breweries, Mrs Ethel
Emma-Uche advised them to utilises the
funds judiciously so as to yield positive results capable of making them
employers of labour as they trudge in their business line.
According to her,
“If you succeed in taking your business idea to the next desirable level, you
stand a chance of winning additional
N250,000.
Mrs Emma-Uche stated
that the panel of experts who assessed and judged their business proposals
would continue monitoring their progress, mentor and provide valuable advice
when needed.
She congratulated
the winners and wished them success in their proposed business lines.
In his message, the
Marketing Manager, Lager and Stout, Nigeria Breweries, Mr Emmanuel Agu stressed
that the project was designed to rejuvenate and celebrate the quintessential
Igbo culture that places emphasis on individualism and competitiveness as
essential ingredients of industry, enterprise and spirit to succeed and excel.
Mr Agu also pointed
out that the business proposal could be on trading, handicraft, small scale
manufacturing and provision of social services that must yield profit, reduce
poverty and become employer of labour
One of the
beneficiaries, Mr Augustine Nnaoma thanked Nigeria Breweries and Life Beer
beverage for the opportunity granted to them under the project.
