For three days youths in Nanka community, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State,
blocked the highway in protest of the alleged killing of one of their members by the police from “Zone 9”, Umuahia.

Though there was conflicting report as some people said the community woke up and saw a man with his head off and the youths started protesting the killing while another group alleged the shooting and killing of the unidentified youth was carried out by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

www.odogwublog.com could not independently verify the report on the true position but an associate maintained the youths woke up and saw a lifeless body of their village man and started protesting.

It was alleged that some police officers from there stormed the community to arrest some people for alleged dredging that had been banned by state government, so as to check environmental degradation.

The incident happened on Sunday and has heightened tension in the community, as the youths have continuously blocked the road that linked other communities in the area.


But the State Commissioner of Police, Hosea Karma, Thursday, said the agency should not be linked to the incident, as they were not in any way associated with it.
