PCC Anambra secures release of 10 men awaiting trial

The Federal Commissioner representing Anambra State in the Public Complaints Commission, PCC, Dr.
Angela Mbah, has vowed to beef up efforts to ensure sustained jail delivery services and accelerated redress for administrative injustice in her state.

Dr. Mbah stated this, yesterday, following her intervention in the release of 10 inmates awaiting trial from the three prisons in the state by the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Peter Umeadi.

.Mbah, who expressed deep concern over the plight of helpless awaiting trial inmates in prison cells across the country, called for greater collaboration among relevant government agencies to ensure speedy dispensation of justice and jail delivery services.

In this regard, Dr. Mbah commended Justice Umeadi for the jail delivery while entreating State Chief Judges to visit the prisons regularly in order to reduce the number of innocent Nigerians languishing on awaiting trial list.

While vowing to redouble her efforts in checking administrative injustice and securing redress for the victimized and the aggrieved, in line with the mandate of the commission, Dr. Mbah called on the people of the state to continue to take advantage of the PCC as a platform to secure redress for administrative injustice.
