Former National Coordinator of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah
has condoled the families of last Sunday tanker fire incident at Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra State.
In a statement issued at the corporate headquarters of the international Non Governmental Organization, NGO, in Abuja, Dr. Ubah described the fire disaster as a national tragedy and condoled with the government and people of Anambra state, pointing out that the incident was a very unfortunate one.
He expressed sadness over the heavy loss of lives and property caused by the tanker accident which later led to a serious fire incident in the commercial city.
He, however, urged all those who lost their loved ones to take heart, even as he prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls.
He renewed his position on the need to have in place parks for heavy duty vehicles across the country, which according to him, will not only enhance smooth flow of traffic but also prevent future recurrence of such tragic incidents.
The oil magnate also revealed that it was an early realization of that fact that made him to construct a park for heavy duty vehicles in Lagos which he noted would bring respite to motorists when utilized.
Dr. Ubah also commended the patriotic zeal of rescue workers, medical personnels and others sympathizers who rose to the occasion of assisting the victims without which the casualties would have been heavier.
