www.odogwublog.com reports that the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has
commended Dr. Ogbonna  Onu and Mr. Femi Adeshina on their appointments as the Secretary to Government of the Federation and the Special Adviser to the President on media respectively.

He also commended the emergence of  Mr. Eric  Osagie as the Managing Director of the Sun Newspapers, Mr. Steve Osuji as the Deputy Managing Director of the Sun Newspapers as well as Mrs Funke Egbemode as the Managing Director of the Telegraph Newspaper.

Obi who expressed optimism that the new appointees will bring their rich experiences in their respective fields to bear in their new assignments, assured them of his support and prayers as they contribute to the progress of Nigeria. Obi urged them to always bear in mind that the assignments are national and crucial calls that require patriotism and diligence for success.

Obi who is in Oxford undergoing Senior Leadership and Management Course, advised them to have the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in all they do. “Those called for national assignments should think about Nigeria and Nigerians first, while those elevated to higher management duties in their newspapers should take the opportunity to promote the best of journalism in sync with the best global practices”, Obi said.

In another development, Obi also commiserated with the victims of patrol tanker fire at Upper Iweka on Sunday. He said it was saddening and agonizing to witness or hear about such incident that take people's lives unannounced.

While commending the Government of Anambra State for her response to the tragedy, he condoled the bereaved families, and prayed to God to grant them the strength and fortitude to withstand the shock occasioned by the tragedy.
