Ndigbo in Lagos mourn Onuma

MEMBERS of Ndigbo Group, Lagos, has described the death of Chief Agbeze Kalu Onuma, an Abiriba
warrior and defender of Ndigbo as a colossal loss for everyone especially the business community, Abrirba youths and the underprivileged in the society.
According to a release from the group, Chief Onuma, 85, who until his death was a member of the Enachioken-in-council and chairman of the Abrirba Council of Elders of Abia state was among the people who fought against Igbo marginalisation and promoted the welfare of Igbo traders.
As one of the founders of Ndigbo forum, a socio-cultural group, the late Onuma’s greatest aspiration was to restore the dignity of Abiriba and Igbo society in general.
Utu Agba Igwe as he was fondly called, who is survived by wives, Mercy, Ojuko, Maria and Georgina and 24 children, according to the statement, was a true lion who embodied the best qualities of the ‘greatest generation of modern Abiriba and true Igbo in him, which will be missed, though his legacy will live on to provide guidance and inspiration.
