Health: Of what use is the gallbladder?

YOU know you have a gallbladder, but do you know where it is or  what it does?

Your gallbladder is one of the organs that you won’t think too much about unless something goes wrong.
Most  people aren’t even certain where their gallbladder is located.
But when your gallbladder starts to hurt, you’ll know right away where it is.
  Where is the gallbladder?
“ The gallbladder is located in the  right upper quadrant of the abdomen right below the liver”, if there are any problems, typically the  patient complains of pain  in this location-right below the ribs.
The gallbladder is attached to the liver, is about four inches in sine, and is pear-shaped.
Gallbladder problems
I do have pain on the right side of my waist. Please what
is the cause and the foods to eat to eliminate it? Thanks.
The gallbladder is a reservoir for bile that must empty at the appropriate time (as fats pass through the duodenum) and with the appropriate intensity.
For a variety of reasons, such as gallstones, inflammation or excessively thick bite, it is possible that the gallbladder does not empty at the appropriate time or intensity. These disorders are
known as biliary dyskinesia or lazy gallbladder.
They are manifested by abdominal heaviness, pain on the right side or headache. Certain foods can help avoid functional disorders.
Food high in fat, however, exacerbate it.
The gallbladder is a small pear-shaped 'organ/sack, which sits underneath and is connected to the liver. The gallbladder's main function is to store bile, which is made in the liver. The gallbladder can be affected by gallstones, inflammation and infection. Each of the problems may produce pain on the right side encasing the centre of the abdomen. In some cases the pain can be severe that the patient feels nauseous and may faint. (See one of my books herbs and your health questions and answers part 1. page
Food for gallbladder disorders
IRADISH: The common radish, as well as the horseradish, increase bile production, ,making it more fluid and- facilitating its drainage into the intestine.
EGGPLANT: The eggplant is a digestive tonic that gently activates the gallbladder. .
OLIVE: Olives, as well as their oil, has a cholagogic effect (stimulates the motility and drainage of the gallbladder). Olives are beneficial in cases of biliary dyskinesia.
PAPAYA: Papaya is a digestive tonic and is useful in cases of
biliary dyspepsia (indigestion) "
VEGETABLES: Try making fresh vegetable juices daily with parsley, apples, carrots and green vegetables. Add this to half a cup of organic aloe Vera and drink daily to help detoxify your liver and gallbladder. Drink at least 6 glasses of water daily.
Reduce or eliminate
High fat and fried foods put an extra load on the gallbladder and its ability to digest fats.
Alcohol and coffee place an extra strain on the liver which can make the problem worse.
Citrus fruits: Citrus, particularly oranges and orange juice consumed on an empty stomach can provoke a sudden emptying of the gallbladder accompanied by slight discomfort such as nausea or abdominal heaviness. Although these symptoms are not serious, they explain why some individuals are reticent to drink orange juice in the morning. In reality, they are the result of a beneficial effect, however intense, of citrus.
Vegetable: Certain vegetables can cause flatulence, which produces abdominal discomfort in those with gallbladder disorders.
They are not serious and are only the result of increased abdominal pressure.
Useful remedies
Milk thistle and dandelion are very effective for maintaining a healthy gallbladder. They both have the ability to enhance bile production, flow and activity.
Helpful hints
Generally, to avoid gallbladder problems you need to control
your LDL cholesterol levels and stress.
