Coping with old age

WHAT is old age?
Old age has a relative definition; it is an age when one begins to feel he is less strong.   When a man is born he starts from that day to get old because as the cells are multiplying and  developing to adulthood, he grows old, for example if a child fall down, he gets up and start working about but if an adult falls down like that  he finds it  difficult, this is such a negative metamorphosis, he can no longer compare himself when he was  young. Old age is also associated with change of value, what one enjoys as an adolescent has  changed from what he enjoys as an adult, and  what one enjoys  as adult, as one grow older he stops  enjoying them.
Relatively, we may start from retirement age to count old age. From that time, you start to experience  a more  serious diversion deviation in appreciation, things start changing  and one starts  of one’s self differently, that you can no longer bite as before.
Old age is ladened with health problems, the muscles starts getting weak, joint starts getting weak,  intestines, eyes and indeed every part of the body and alertness start depreciating, that is why old  people are discouraged from driving because everything about them has depreciated.
At old age one gets weaker sexually and no longer appreciates beauty, that is in marriage relationship.
How does one manage himself at this stage?
The thing is that at this stage one has to begin to stay away from strenuous activities, has to relax more by listening to radio, television, have enough sleep up to seven hours, have occasional exercise to still keep the nerves, joints,, say daily prayers, take care of oneself, bath and tidy up. Also one should avoid eating too much; one should be eating much of fruits, vegetables and keep away from stress.
What are the roles of children to ageing parent?
The children's roles are not to create problems for their ageing parents through cultism and other evil activities that will wear them down faster. They should pay regular visits to their aged ones if they are outside home, always engage the aged ones in arguments to keep them agile, and to tap from their words of wisdom, gain positive advice and correct direction.
Would you say old age is a happy moment?
No, its not a happy stage because that is the age one suffers from one ailment or the other.  It is rather a crippling stage in the sense that those things one can do, as a young person, one cannot do at old age. It is rather a stage he has been able to weather the vagarities of life up to the age.
People pray to get old because they didn't know that old age is saddled with a lot of problems, health wise and otherwise.
