Buhari’s building of Helipad in his home town and reactions of Nigerians

The report that the Federal Government is installing a Helipad in Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari's
hometown, has generated condemnation reactions on tweet by Nigerians.
They condemned the move, with many calling the President and the All Progressives Congress a bunch of hypocrites.
They criticized that the same government preaching cost-saving measures is prioritizing building a Presidential landing when they took President Goodluck Jonathan to the cleaners for doing nothing but perceived.
They said he has not appointed Ministers but would construct helipad and described that as clueless leadership.
Some said a Helipad means a reinforced concrete slab and not an airport and that the cost is estimated at $10, 000.
When completed, Mr. President can be flown directly to Daura from one of the Presidential helicopters – which will also by-pass Katsina airport completely.
President Muhammadu Buhari currently travels by road to Daura from Katsina airport, which is said to have necessitated building the Helipad to eliminate the President’s headache of a road trip.
When completed, Mr. President can be flown directly to Daura from one of the Presidential helicopters – which will also by-pass Katsina airport completely.
Thisday had reported:“I can tell you that right now, they are building a Helipad in Daura and when it is completed he doesn’t have to fly to Katsina Airport again. Helipad is a kind of landing for Helicopters’’.
The source also added that there are presently six planes functioning at the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF).
“The maximum number of functional planes we have right now is six and out of that six there is a high usage for it. Consider that last week in one day, the President used one to Katsina, the Vice President used the other one to Lagos, and the Senate President used the third one to meeting President Olusegun Obasanjo at Abeokuta via Lagos and later to Ilorin, Kwara state.
“The thing is that all these while, even under the previous government we only have six serviceable Presidential aircraft,” the insider added.
