Breaking News: Tension in Anambra as Orumba South Chairman John Onyeakpa runs to Obiano to save him from Impeachment

Councillors are now rising against their Chairmen for sidelining them from the loots of office and
governance since they were elected in office.
The first casualty was Onitsha South local government were all forces led by Lady Azuka Enemuo about to depart office Commissioner for Local government area and others connived allegedly with the councillors to remove , Lady Ann Chukwuneke from office unceremoniously.
And now the Chairman, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. John Onyeakpa, is facing the music and he has ran to Governor Willie Obiano to save him as he did when he was moved against by the councillors.
Onyeakpa yesterday was served with an impeachment notice from the councillors.
Out of the 18 councillors of the council, 16 endorsed the move to impeach the LG chairman while two did not sign because one is from Ezira where the Chairman is from and the other from Nawfija travelled to the US.
The resolution of his removal was signed by the Clerk of the House, Okoye Samuel.
The council legislators accused the chairman of mismanagement of public funds and gross misconduct.
They alleged that the chairman received over N4.2m as refund of money spent during his inauguration.
The resolution of the House, dated June 2, 2015, was made available to newsmen by the council members.
They stated that the impeachment notice became necessary and remained the last resort as the council boss activities from the inception of his administration to date had been detrimental to the council.
An impeachment process had earlier been  initiated against the chairman on August 24, 2014 but was said to have been halted in the interest of peace by the powers that be.
The chairman was further  accused of non-release of monthly income and expenditure of the local government.
The notice read, “Relying on these constitutional breaches and fraudulent practices coupled with other  issues, which we may not itemise here, his removal from office as well as comprehensive audit of his financial transactions remain the only option left for us.”
“Consequently, we hereby invoke the provisions of Section 66, subsection 2, paragraph A of Anambra State Local Government Law 1999 (Amendment No. 8) of 2014 to commence the process for the removal from office of Barr. Onyeakpa John as Executive Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area.”
They lawmakers alleged that the chairman sponsored parallel congresses during the last congress hence Orumba South has not gotten a party Chairman after the last congresses.
Speaker of the council , Okwuma Chukwudi from Isulo and his members were set to impeach the council boss as they have already allegedly are waiting to ask a judge to institute a 7 man panel to investigate the chairman. They were seen saying that Obiano will not save him as he did the last time.
