Breaking News: School Prefect, Motorbike Operator Killed By ATMA Official

www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that the Senior Prefect of Day Star Secondary School, Ogidi, Emeka Ogbu
and a commercial motorbike (Okada) operator were crushed to death by an official of Anambra State Transport Management Agency, (ATMA).

Eyewitness account said the commercial motorbike operator was being chased by the ATMA official who was driving the ATMA Sports Utility Vehicle.

On the process, the vehicle hit the motorbike who in turn hit the school prefect that was returning from school and both the bike operator and school prefect died minutes after they were rushed to Mayor Hospital Ogidi.

Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon Chuma Mbodu expressed regret that a government official and vehicle was involved adding that he was yet to get the true picture of the incident.

But when our Correspondent visited the school, it was deserted but a boy who claimed to be one of the students said, “the deceased hailed from Enugu State”.
“He came this third term but because he was brilliant the school management appointed him the Senior Prefect”, he stated further.
“The deceased was the only son of the family and was just returning home from school when he was crushed to death close to Ugwu Nwasike Round-about, Ogidi.

The ATMA man was chasing a motorcycle operator who hit the boy”, he hinted.

Confirming the incident the Ogidi Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr. Hassan Musa said, “investigation is ongoing”.

“That boy was a Senior Prefect of a secondary school in Ogidi, we commiserate with the family on the death of the innocent boy”, the DPO stated


Since the incidence, it has been cries and wailing at Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.
