(ASA-World), has arrived Nigeria for the 2015 free medical mission for the people of Anambra State. Already , about nine towns, including Ihembosi, Oko, Orama-Etiti-Anam , Ozubulu, Obosi, Agulu-Uzoigbo, Abagana, Oba and Ichi have been selected as the center for the medical mission.
The Chairman of ASA-World, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze in a world press conference at the weekend disclosed that fifteen Doctors , ten nurses, five Pharmacists and twenty volunteers have been assisting in medical care for the annual medical mission.
The medical mission which is under the sponsorship of Kanec Pharma & Household Products , Nnewi, Anambra State, and Angel Pure Groundnut Cooking Oil, Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria, according to Anakwenze is to offer free medical services to the under-privileged & to save lives of the impoverished people of Anambra State.
He said that the mission is caring for thousands of people needing surgeries, restoration of sights, dispensation of medications, counselling, free prostate, gynecological exams, treatment for hypertension, diabetics, gastrointestinal and other infectious diseases. While requesting for funding from public spirited individuals around the world, he disclosed that ASA-World has increased the number of towns to be visited to eight as against six town visited last year.
“We intend to provide three months supply of drugs to patients with chronic illnesses instead of one month. All medical and non-medical professionals: Doctors, Pharmacists, Eye, Ear, Nose &Throat Specialists , Internal Medicines, Social Workers, Nurses, dentists, and allied medical field practitioners and all those who are interested in assisting, regardless of profession should are encouraged to register through their respective organization across the globe.
There will be no restriction from the state of origin as non-Anambra volunteers are welcome”, ‘he said.
