www.odogwublog.com reports that the Anambra State House of Assembly yesterday passed into law the
bill to establish Anambra State Waste Management Agency, ASWAMA.
The law according to the Speaker of the House, Princess Chinwe Clara Nwaebili, has given legal backing to the Agency, she reviewed that the law would take care of the sanitation problems, enable the ASWAMA fix their disposal charges in the state.
She however, thanked all the members of the House for their constructive debating on the bills which made it all encompassed and people-oriented bill for the welfare of Anambrarians.
While speaking to newsmen after the sitting at the Anambra State House of Assembly Complex, the Honourable member representing Onitsha II constituency, Hon. Barr Chigbo Enwezor maintained that the House has done very well in terms of bill passage and adequate representations; maintained that the bill was not made for revenue generation alone but would bring sanity in the system.
He attributed the recent 48 bills passed into law within 10 minutes by senate as being insensitive to their critical roles they were elected to perform.
Another bill passed yesterday was the amendment bill of Anambra State Traffic Agency,ASTA, which would henceforth be regarded by law as Anambra Traffic Management Agency, ATMA.
