Anambra, Kogi Bloody Clash: 2,500 Displaced in Anambra says Chief Abala

www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that no fewer than 2,500 people have allegedly been displaced
since the commencement of the Anambra and kogi states communal bloody clash about 18 months ago.

Fielding questions from newsmen, a community leader in Aguleri, one of the warring communities in Anambra state and Patron of Omabala Indigenous Youth Foundation, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Abala, regretted that the states and federal Government have not put a stop to the war.

According to him, “these displaced people on the side of Anambra state need medication, food and shelter to help curtail the suffering they are going through”.

He stressed the need for the warring communities of Odeke and Echeno in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State and Enugu Otu Agulueri, Eziagulu Otu, Mkpunando and Agulueri, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State to have a covenant and boundary demarcation to end the war.

“The Traditional ruler of Igala, HRM Attah Agabaidu Michael Idakwo Anieh Oboni, HRH Rev JJ Agbata the Doga of Echeno community,  traditional ruler of Odeke, HRH Dominic Urana, the Doga of Odeke, Igwe Christopher Idigo of Aguleri and Eze Akajiofor Chukwuemeka Ezeani, were among the traditional rulers who endorsed our call for covenant and boundary demarcation”, he disclosed.
Flanked by the coordinator of the Foundation, Comrade Tony Edochie and Chief Emmanuel C. Akubueze, Chairman of the initiative group that commenced the peace talk on the crisis , Abala expressed surprise that while they have come to the verge of taking the covenant, some disgruntled elements who thrive in crisis went and attacked the Orient Oil site, killing three of its workers few days ago.
Condemning the killing just as governor Willie Obiano also condemned the attack and killing, the Foundation Chairman reiterated that both the Federal and State governments should ensure that the demarcation is done to restore everlasting peace which for years now has eluded the people.

"Once the covenant is performed, it will be binding on the people because our people respect covenant taking a lot because it kills if you go contrary to it", he hinted.

Earlier in their contributions, Comrade Edochie and Chief Akubueze recalled that the peace talk earlier took them to Abuja and Nsukka adding that the foundation had spent a lot of money and time to get to the present level before the attack of the oil company by yet to be identified assailants from Kogi State.
They reiterated that the attack would not deter the foundation from seeking peace and urging the youths of both warring states to lay down their arms and seek peace.
“We no longer want these killings and destruction of lives and the three tiers of governments should help us by demarcating the boundary of the two states”.
It would be recalled that Governor Obiano made the condemnation at Government Lodge, Awka, describing the attack as totally unacceptable.
He revealed that he has contacted the Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada where the assailants were reported to have come from and that he has apologized and pledged to investigate the matter with a view to identifying the culprits to face the wrath of the car.
