Trouble for House of God: Catholic Church is not against non Catholics Marrying Catholics - Bishop Jonas Benson

www.odogwublog.com reports that the riddle on the minds of many have been resolved with the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye stating categorically that the Roman Catholic Church is not any way against non-Catholic getting married to a Roman Catholic member.

Bishop Jonas Benson who stated this in an interview with newsmen at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka admonished parents to strictly follow Canon Law while giving out their daughters into marriage to a non-Catholic faithful.

According to him, 'The Canon Law says that the intended couples must wed in Catholic, baptize and nurture their children in Catholic faith. Once the
suitor accepts, nothing stops them from marrying. This is in order not to make the daughter to lose her Catholic faith.

'Catholic parents should strictly follow the Canon Law 11 (24-27) which encourage the Catholic believers, not to deny non-Catholic suitors from marrying their daughters.

'If you must give away your daughter to a non Catholic, You Must Adhere strictly to Canon Law 11(24-27),' Bishop Jonas Benson said.
