www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state says the
system of administration he is working to entrench in the state is one that will impact in the citizenry, a positive culture that inhibits negativity, promote peaceful coexistence and stability as well as encourage participatory citizenship.

  The Governor stated this when he received a delegation from the Nigeria Prays Group led by its Chairman and former Head of State, Dr Yakubu Gowon who paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia.

  The delegation included national and state officials of the Group as well as members of the body of conveners for the South-East zonal Prayer Rally held in Awka.

 Receiving the delegation, Governor Obiano said prayer is key to success in every field of human endeavour.

  According to the Governor, the country is presently in a period of transition which requires its leaders to chart a new progressive course for its development , adding that only the wisdom that comes from God can guarantee such achievement.
  He commended the former Head of State , Dr Gowon for his fatherly role in the sustenance of the peace and unity of Nigeria, as well as his vision in driving the initiative, describing him as a gift to nation.

 Governor Obiano called on Nigeria to continue to pray and work practically for the continued peace and stability of the country, noting that without peace and stability, it would be impossible for meaningful development to ensue.          

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Group, Dr Gowon explained that the visit was to thank the Governor for its support towards the success of the South-East zonal prayer rally held in the state, adding that indices are on ground that have proved that the Governor is focused on transforming the state.

  While noting that the Group is also pursuing the achievement of greater understanding and tolerance for one another between the two major religions in the country through the prayer initiative, the former Head of State said sustained prayers for the country is imperative in attracting God's intervention in addressing challenges that seen humanly impossible to handle.

  The Nigeria Prays, an interdenominational prayer Group, had since its inception in 1996 carried out prayer rallies across the six Geopolitical zones and 36 states of the country including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for peace and stability of the country.
