Many leaders especially from Anambra state have continued to react on the recent death of The Owelle of Onitsha, Chief Chukwuma Bamidele Azikiwe.

Prince John Emeka, the former Minister of Transport in his comments stated, "The death of the Owelle of Onitsha, Chief Chukwuma Azikiwe, is a big loss and having done his bit we shall all miss the Owelle so much.

"His demise will leave a big shoe which will not be easy to fill, especially for what he represents within the Nnamdi Azikiwe dynasty. The Lord will give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

"The Owelle was an enviable gentleman and an illustrious son of the Igbo race. While we all rue over his death, I wish to commiserate with the entire family of our late national hero, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Onitsha people in general."

The national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), Chief Victor Umeh said, "Owelle Chukwuma Bamidele Azikiwe was a great follower of the political philosophy of his late father Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe. He was firmly committed to the principle of political negotiation based on balance of interests.

"In the last general election, he advised that Ndigbo should discuss with everybody and keep all options open. May his soul rest in peace."

And the senator-elect, for Anambra Central(PDP), Iyom Uche Ekwunife described it as shocking and a great loss to the nation, especially Anambra state.

She said, "it is shocking to hear about the great loss to the nation and Anambra state. I remember when I moved the motion for the continuation of work on the abandoned Zik's mausoleum, he called to thank me.

"May his soul rest in peace and may God console the entire family...", Ekwunife added.
