List of elected 30 state members of Assembly winners in Anambra Issued certificates of return by INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 1, in Awka, Anambra

State, issued certificates of return to the 30 candidates that emerged winners in the State House of Assembly election held on April 11, advising aggrieved candidates to go to court.

Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Mr. Edwin Nwatarali, who gave the advice while issuing out the certificates, stated that the court option was necessary because the commission had no powers to reverse an already announced election result.

Among those who received their certificates of return, were the three victorious candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Francis Okoye for Anaocha 1; Charles Ezeani for Anaocha 11 and Augustine Offor, who is to represent Ekwusigo State Constituency.

The remaining 27 winners were of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The 30 House of Assembly members are Ume Ikechukwu John (Aguata 1), Uzoezie Ikemefuna Ralph-Collins (Aguata 11), Uche Victor Okafor (Ayamelum), Emenaka Obinna Christopher (Anambra East), Victor Jideofor Okoye (Anambra West), Francis Okoye (Anaocha 1), Charles Chukwuma Ezeani (Anaocha 11), Boniface Okonkwo (Awka North), Godwin Okafor (Awka South 1), Harford Ikechukwu Oseke (Awka South 11), Lawrence Chukwunweike Ezeudu (Dunukofia), Augustine Onyebuchi Offor (Ekwusigo), Mmegbuanaeze Tochukwu Francis (Idemili North), Ezenwune Fabian Chukwuka (Idemili South) and Udemadu Chidi (Ihiala 1).

Others are Agbodike Paschal (Ihiala), Timothy Ifediorama (Njikoka), Peter Chima Ndubuisi Ibida (Njikoka 11), Anazodo Amalachukwu Kenneth (Nnewi North), Iruba Kingsley Chukwuma (Nnewi South 1), Maduagwu Rita Obianama (Nnewi South II), Benson Chuk Nwawulu (Ogbaru 1), Udeze Somtochukwu Nkem (Obaru 11), Chugbo Enwezor Onitsha (North 1), Ibuzo Edward Obi Onitsha North 11 (Apga); Patrick Obiora Aniunoh (Onitsha South 1), Beverly Ifeanyi Nkemdiche (Onitsha South 11), Romanus Ugochukwu Obi (Orumba North), Nkeiru Nikky Ebere Ugochukwu (Orumba South) and Vivian Akpamgbo Okadigbo (Oyi).

Nwatarali stated that aggrieved candidates, who according to him, complained that they were rigged out of the election, had inundated him with phone calls. He, therefore, explained that the only option left for such people was to seek redress in court.
