How APGA elected new 28 state Executive in Anambra state led by Sir Norbert Obi, to be sworn in on June 10th

Norbert Obi on Saturday evening emerged the new state Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.                          
 He was elected unopposed alongside 27 other members of the State Executive Committee through a voice vote during the Anambra State Congress of the Party.                    
     The Congress which attracted top state government functionaries,  all Political Office Holders in the State elected on the platform of APGA, Party Chieftains and Supporters as well as a Representative of  INEC, started with the accreditation of the 1,139 delegates drawn from the various Wards in the State.                  
 Addressing the Congress, the National Chairman of APGA who was represented by the State Chairman of the Party, Chief Mike Kwentor said APGA is a political movement founded on the principles of equity, justice and transparency and had since its inception, weathered many storms to get to the enviable height it is presently.                  
Chief Umeh maintained that the Party is moving at a rapid pace towards becoming the next opposition Party in the Country evident in the landmarks it recorded during the last general elections and attributed its success to the support by the people.                      
 The Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Mr Ifeatu Onejeme said the election which is a reconciliatory step has become necessary to fill the void created by the outgoing State Executive as well as to further strengthen internal democracy and guarantee continuity in the Party, commending the outgoing Executives for their doggedness in effectively administering the affairs of the Party for the past eight years.                                   He noted that the new order of peace and intensified struggle towards the people's emancipation which the Congress was designed to usher in, will ensure that the Party lives out its motto "be your brother's keeper".                            
  In his acceptance speech, the newly-elected State Chairman of APGA, Sir Norbert Obi expressed gratitude to the National Leader and Board of Trustees Chairman of APGA, Governor Willie Obiano for showing in concrete terms within a short period, his genuine resolve to make the Party great, adding that the dividends of his developmental strides has continued to attracted interests towards the Party.            
         He promised to operate an all-inclusive and open door system of administration and to pursue that will ensure that APGA remains one big indivisible family.        
    In their separate remarks, the newly-elected State Deputy Chairman of the Party, Mr Tony Omeligwe-Elee and the State Vice Chairman, North, Mr Chinedu Nnatuanya said the advent of the APGA regime in the State has ushered in fresh breath of peace, transparency in governance and sustainable development in the State and assured that they will work vigorously to re-affirm the ideals of the Party as envisioned by its founding fathers.                              
Also speaking, the Chairman, Willie Obiano-support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta and the Secretary of the State Congress Committee, Comrade Chinedu Obidigwe described the Congress as the most peaceful congress in the State, attributing the unanimous affirmation to the purposeful way which Governor Obiano has overseen the affairs of the Party.                        
For his part, the Member-Elect for Idemili North State Constituency, Chief Francis Nmegbuanaeze, acknowledged that with the consolidation process that is ongoing presently in the Party and with the support of Governor Obiano, the Party is poised to make further in-roads into other States of the South-East and the Federation.                    
        The newly-elected APGA State Executive Committee is expected to be sworn in into office on the 10th of next Month when the subsisting tenure of the Present Executive will expire.
