Senator-elect and Media mogul, Ben Murray-Bruce, has stated that governors should be permitted to
establish state police and community police in order to tackle insecurity in the country.
He noted that it is wrong to blame governors for insecurity in their domains when they don’t control the police.
His tweets are as follows
NASS must ensure Ministry of Labour forces all employers to pay minimum wage or fine them. Least paid Silverbird staff earns 25k before tax.
If we keep policing Nigeria in the same way we've policed ourselves we will get same result. Community policing will make the difference.
Does it make sense to blame Govs for insecurity in their state when they have no control over the police? In essence, they are figure heads!
If we dont let states establish their own state and community police then we must hold the President responsible for insecurity in a state.
Why do we deceive Govs that they are the Chief Security Officers of their states when the State Police Command is controlled from Abuja?
