www.odogwublog.com reports that the Hon Chief Judge of Anambra state , Hon Justice Peter N.C
Umeadi shall on 1st June, 2015 embark on a three day prison visits to Awka , Aguata and Onitsha prisons.
The Anambra state High Court, Chief Registrar, Mrs Doris .N. Ezeani announced this during a press briefing in Awka.
She said the Chief judge is doing so based on powers vested on him as Chief judge to engage in jail delivery exercise.
She said the Chief Judge shall visit Onitsha Prison on 1st day of June, Aguata Prison on 3rd day of June and Awka Prison on 5th day of June this year by 10 am on each day .
She added that the people to be considered by the chief judge during Prison visits include cases on health grounds, juvenile grounds, old age and over stay without trial as may be presented by the prison officials.
She added that every good case has a chance of being released although the snag had always been when good cases are in the hands of lawyers and may not be mentioned sequel to the order of seniority in court by lawyers before the Chief judge is done for the day........................details later
